first_imgKolkata: Though police claimed that Anindita Pal Dey has admitted to have killed Calcutta High Court lawyer Rajat Kumar Dey, she herself has denied the charges made against her.On Sunday, she denied the police statement and said she has no hands in Rajat’s murder. She was remanded to police custody after the sleuths told the court about her contradictory and misleading statements. Sources informed that in the course of investigation it was revealed that she had no plan for murdering Rajat. All of those things happened in the hit of the moment. Anindita alleged that Rajat used to torture her both mentally and physically. During altercations Rajat used to threaten her saying he would commit suicide. Also Read – Rain batters Kolkata, cripples normal lifeAccording to the sources, during interrogation in police custody, Anindita informed the sleuths that on November 24 the same situation had occurred and when Rajat told her that he would commit suicide, Anindita lost self-control and used some sort of wire to strangulate Rajat. Though the sleuths could not identify any other motive, some police officers still do not want to believe Anindita’s statements. Several question arose after she made her statements such as — Has Anindita murdered Rajat by strangulation by herself or was there someone else who had helped her in committing the crime? But police have refused to make any comments on this. Another question which arises is that why did she shift her son and the pet dog to her paternal home if she did not have plans to murder Rajat? “The probe is on. Anindita is being interrogated thoroughly. Several questions are cropping up which need to be answered by her. It could be an unplanned murder,” said a senior police official from the Bidhannagar Police. As Anindita was misleading the investigating officers from the very beginning of the case, the sleuths are not holding her statements to be true. On the contrary, police officers are waiting to see if Anindita changes her statement again.last_img
