NWS issues another dense fog advisory for PortlandVancouver area
Dense fog blanketed the Portland-Vancouver area again on Tuesday morning, prompting an advisory from the National Weather Service.Things should start to clear up around 10 a.m., but visibility will be less than a quarter-mile in spots around Clark County until that time. The advisory also includes the communities of Battle Ground, Washougal, Ridgefield, Yacolt and Amboy.“Motorists should be prepared for abrupt changes in visibilities over short distances when traveling along the (Interstate 5) corridor between Kelso/Longview and Eugene including the Portland/Vancouver metro,” the advisory says.Drivers are asked to slow down and leave plenty of space between other vehicles on the road. Traffic maps showed no major crashes impeding the morning commute at 6:45 a.m. There was a minor crash on the Interstate 5 Bridge about an hour later, but it was cleared within 15 minutes, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The forecast calls for a slight chance of rain Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., then a chance of showers in the evening. The weather service predicts a high temperature of 60 degrees, where the mercury should top out for the rest of the workweek, too.
