Then the driver was manoeuvring to pull out from the kerb and he reversed over my brothers leg and then ran over his hand,” she told the Limerick Post. The driver went off, apparently none the wiser of what had happened.“My brother was lying in the road – with the shock he didn’t know where he was, and he kept shouting for help. Four students came along and helped him, he was just so afraid he was going to be run over again,” said Marie.  The injured man has undergone surgery on both his leg and his hand and is now confined to a nursing home“They could do nothing with his hand. It is paralysed and he can’t get around with the leg so he will never come out of that nursing home,” added Marie.  She said that both she and her brother are “very grateful to those students who helped him. They were very kind”.Marie believes that the driver of the car may not be aware of the accident but is hoping that on reflection, he or she might come forward.“I would just hope that someone has the good conscience to come forward. I would ask anyone who might have been parked in that place on that night to sit down and think, did they notice anything unusual? The driver would have felt two bumps. Maybe they thought nothing of it at the time but reading this, they might realise and come forward”.Anyone who has information should contact Marie on 061 412534 NewsLocal NewsAppeal from sister of man who was run over twiceBy admin – September 4, 2012 457 Advertisement Previous article‘Statistics fail to represent crime level’ – ThompsonNext articleSecond person charged in ‘tiger kidnapping’ case adminlast_img read more
