MSI to demo MultiConnect Panel and Voice Genie at CES

first_imgMSI has decided to make any PC running an MSI X79 motherboard more useful with the introduction of the MultiConnect Panel (MCP), which combines Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, and system performance enhancements in a single 5.25-inch drive panel.System performance is enhanced by pushing the OC Genie button, which enables the OC Genie system that automatically detects your processor and memory configuration, then proceeds to overclock them. MSI boards have been carrying such a feature since the P55 series saw a release, the MCP just makes it even easier/quicker to access.Alongside overclocking, the MCP is all about connectivity. It has 802.11n Wi-Fi built-in meaning you don’t require a separate wireless dongle sticking out the back of your machine. A Bluetooth module has also been embedded so that your smartphone, tablet, or laptop can all be wirelessly synced without any wires being required.Probably the best feature for gadget users has to be the two USB ports mounted in the MCP. We are all used to the slow trickle charging offered with many phones and tablets through a USB connection, but MSI has boosted the voltage 3x to these two ports, meaning your devices will charge faster without need of a power socket.Alongside the MCP, MSI has also announced that its Voice Genie add-on card is ready to go. We first heard about Voice Genie in September, and it allows a user to control a PC with their voice including allowing it to boot, shutdown, or open commonly used applications like a browser. It works with all X79 boards, some Z68 boards, and the P67 Big Bang Marshal. The limited compatibility is due to the Voice Genie requiring a JDLED3 proprietary header. Both the MultiConnect Panel and Voice Genie will be on display at the MSI booth during CES 2012 which starts on January 10. We also hope to hear what the final price of these two accessories will be during the show.Read more at MSIlast_img read more
