Beach Replenishment Update: Dunes ‘Dozed at South End

At the same time, excavators are digging up old sand fence and bulldozers are reshaping the sand berm created by the city in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. The berm had been planted with dune grass, but it’s clear now that the Army Corps of Engineers will completely rebuild the dune structure at that part of the island.
