Morocco Second Largest Exporter of Goods to Southern Brazil

Rabat – Morocco ranked second place among countries exporting goods to the Rio Grande Port in Southern Brazil, in the period from January through July 2015, according to the Huffpost Maghreb, citing Brazilian sources.The administration of Rio Grande Port conducted an investigation on the origin of imports and found that Russia and Morocco topped the international exporters respectively.During seven months, the two countries together exported around one million tons of goods. Russia was top on the list of largest exporters with 438,196 tons of goods unloaded in Brazil, followed by Morocco (340,390), US (331,133) Argentina(311,795), Qatar (229,984), China (196,862) and Lithuania (155,495) tons.The study also revealed that the main Moroccan products exported were phosphate accounting more than 975,000 tons, followed by petrochemical products such as fuels and chemicals totaling over 200,000 tons.According to the same source, the imports unloaded at the Rio Grande port during this period totaled 3,345,177 tons.© Morocco World News.
